A cultural exchange in architecture and urbanism between the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Pan-African Biennale.
Photo: PanzingoThe Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Pan-African Biennale have signed a Letter of Intent to promote cultural exchange in architecture and urbanism between Seoul and Africa.
The letter sets out three areas of cooperation. First, mutual participation: each side will take part in the other's biennale, the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism and the Pan-African Biennale, through exhibitions, forums, sessions and related programmes.
Second, exchange between people: opportunities for architects, urban planners, researchers, curators and other professionals from Seoul and Africa to work together.
Third, shared knowledge: policies and major projects in architecture and urbanism, and experience on common challenges, including sustainable cities, climate change and the cities of the future.
“The Biennale’s vision is to widen collaboration beyond the Global North. Our partnership with Seoul shows our commitment to connecting Africa with other parts of the world, sharing what Africa knows and builds, and exchanging knowledge and practice horizontally.”
Omar Degan, Founder and Executive Director, Pan-African Biennale
