Participants
The Pan-African Biennale announces the official selection of participants for its inaugural edition. For the first time in history, spatial practices from across the African continent convene under a single curatorial framework — built from within.
Additional participants, keynote speakers, and programme contributors will be announced in the coming weeks.
As the host city of the inaugural Pan-African Biennale, Nairobi occupies a singular position within the programme. Rather than participating through a single selected practice, Kenya contributes with a collective approach through the city itself — its architecture offices, academic institutions, cultural organisations, and spatial practices that will activate the Biennale across its venues, public spaces, and satellite programmes throughout the week of 7 to 11 September 2026.
This model reflects the Biennale's understanding of Nairobi not as a backdrop but as an active curatorial site — a city whose spatial intelligence, architectural history, and contemporary practice are woven into the fabric of the event. Further details on Nairobi's host city programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
