kian luis amin
Kian Luis Amin is a curatorial research associate whose work engages decolonial and critical race approaches to architectural education and practice. His research examines how Eurocentric epistemologies shape disciplinary knowledge and explores processes of (un)learning as pathways toward more plural and Africa-centred architectural futures. Through this lens, his work positions architecture as a cultural and political practice, attentive to questions of power, representation, and social justice. A graduate of the Technical University of Darmstadt, Kian is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Cape Town. His research interests include discourse production, humanitarian and resilient design, and the translation of research into public-facing curatorial formats that foreground collective knowledge and long-term intellectual legacies. At the Pan-African Biennale, he contributes to the development of the institution’s research foundations and supports the articulation of its critical frameworks, reinforcing the Biennale’s commitment to African-led knowledge production and long-term intellectual continuity.
